Lidl Offers
« on: January 09, 2017, 06:55:48 pm »
Whilst in our local Lidl store this morning I cam across the following :
Set of Three adjustable folding tables (I use these for Port Perran and Trepol Bay).
Model Display cabinets ( 2 types)
Small multi compartment storage boxes (ideal for very small bits and bobs).
Always worth a look to see what's available. Oh...and I bought two of the storage boxes (2-25 each I think it was).
It's you railway so build it as you want and run whatever you like. The only rule is - ENJOY :

I have a set of those tables, and our arfea group has 2 sets which we use for the group layout. Very handy and good value.
Cheers MIKE

Hmmm - I'd love a few model display cabinets - I was even toying with the idea of making one.

I wonder if they are stocked in Lidl's nationwide, or just in a few stores. Has anybody else seen them? Can we have some sitrep's please!

Cheers

Dan

They are in stock here in the Edinburgh area. I looked at them when I was in there a day or two back. Purely my own opinion, they are expensive for what they are. If you have the skills and the facility to make your own I think that would be a better way to go.

There, doesn't that feel better?

I think you will find they are in stock nationwide. They are certainly in the 3 Lidl stores in my neck of the woods. (North East Wales).

Well I went to two Lidl stores yesterday in the South East) - Three Bridges and Horley ... not a scent of them  :veryangry:

That said, if they're as heavy as some are saying it's probably not a bad thing - they'd need to get on a plane with me this afternoon!

Glad those that found them managed to bag one or two (or three) and thank you OP for advising us.

Ah - I did see the pasting tables  :D

I rang Lidl's 0800 number yesterday and was told that the offer ended "two weeks ago". I got the impression she was talking about stores in my area, Lincolnshire, so from the comments of others here it may be the offers they run are timed differently in other parts of the country.

Just out of interest, I see they have run this offer in the past (2015, 2016) so it may happen again someday.

And can anybody report the current price they are/were asking?
Mike

Stock in Lidl stores appears to rotate around between the branches, its a bit of a gamble whether one store will have it in or not. I suppose its a good sales technique, some of the stuff will only make one or two sales in each area and then they take it on to the next shop.

For example, I've seen those display cases on sale at my local store on two different occasions, with quite a few months in between.

The tables are great though, I have a set :)

p.s. with all the moving around of stock they do, be careful to check for damages

Could just about lift ONE to get it to the car, had to go back in for the other one ;) You'd never get them on the plane, and if you did it'd probably cost more in freight charges than the cases cost to buy! :D

And can anybody report the current price they are/were asking?

The display cases were 59.99 each or two for 100.00, good considering the cheapest I found online was around 55 for ones half the size

If it is the same item as the one on sale in Ireland from next Monday, (16th), this is it -

http://www.lidl.ie/en/Offers.htm?action=showDetail&id=50345

I bought one last time it was available in Ireland and being cordless, for the money, good value. (If it is not the same one, forget you have read this post  :)).

Your date may well be correct, offers in Ireland are usually the same as in the UK, but on a different date. Plus the price difference can be a bit annoying - 16.99p at todays rate equates to about 19.50, yet the price here is 27.99  :o. However, even at that price, I thought it was good value.
