Dapol class 73 bogie towers.....
« on: January 05, 2017, 06:28:54 pm »
I have now moved onto more modern diesel locos.
I have also found my old Dapol class 73 in a little tub. I did ask this same question i think in 2013/14 but there are still apparently no spares available from the main suspects  :(

Does anyone know where if anywhere i can get a replacement bogie tower for said loco ?

It would be great to see this engine runnung now i actually have a layout to run it on....(never got that far in the old days)

Cheers Andy.

Dapol don't make a class 70 and never have. Do you mean the Farish one?

If so, contact Bachmann spares - they might have parts available - that's the only likely source unless you can find a completely destroyed non-runner for small money I suspect.

Cheers,
Alan

There are a variety of class 73 chassis types (early with metal chassis, later with all plastic) - I'm not sure the bogies are the same on all of them, so you need to identify which type it is probably - or a photo of the offending part will help folks see what you need.

Cheers,
Alan

I will try and post a photo of the bogie but so far the web site says my pics are too big.

I have noticed after doing a google search that another member on here had the same problem after dropping their 73... they were lucky enough to find some on e-bay.

The search goes on......

Have you tried emailing dcc supplies, l have obtained a few spares in the past, including a replacement bogie tower for a 73, l have to say l don't like messing with some dapol loco's l find that sometimes it's like they don't want to mess with them, the early class 73 can be a little iffy if messed with my experience!
