Hi Mike,

I think that 92 is the same as the one we have (or at least, they are both EP1s) unless that is an EP2 with the PCB and lighting all fitted. I think the panto head got knocked in transit!

They may also have had on display the 00 TEA samples on show and the revised, and heavier, KFA container flats which I know they have brought over...

Cheers

They had two 00 gauge TEAs, and two KFAs - one with Gloucester GPS20 (I think) and one with VNH1 bogies. I think that the KFAs will track OK. The GPS version has some extra brake bits on which it won't need.

Did not want to steal your thunder too much by showing everything. Phil Parker of BRM was taking lots of photos. Gareth Bayer from Rapido did straighten up the pantographs......... after I had taken my photos! The roof detail is remarkable in its complexity, completeness and finesse.

Hi Mike,

Glad you liked it!  We were very sorry the 92 samples didn't make it in time for DEMU - they were delivered the day after!

One of the great things about working with Rapido is that they really care about the details, while understanding the practicalities of model railway production.

So while their attention to detail is stunning, the parts are also pleasingly robust.

Cheers

It certainly looks amazing. Very much looking forward to them. Good to hear about progress on the KFAs too.

Also very excited and impressed by the latest 92 shots, my two will be very welcome.

I don't know how I can get the cash for some KFAs, I have no room for them on the layout either. But of all the other Revolution projects I know I will regret not having these.

Hello all,

It was great to catch up with people at Warley with the latest news about the 92.

We had a handpainted version on show in the rather attractive Caledonian Sleeper livery - and thanks to the team on Kinlet Wharf for letting us pose it with their appropriate (and excellently modelled) sleeper rake...

The news on this model is that we are expecting to receive the next sample very soon which should have the factory fitted lights, PCB and finalised motor/drive train.  The working model we have has the motor hard wired to the pick ups, and is primarily to assess the moulded parts.

If all goes to plan we will be approving the running sample over Xmas/New Year, moving to livery checking soon after and then going into production once the factory has finished making the KFA container flats, meaning the order book is likely to close in the Spring.

Cheers

Hi Kirakat,

No, you'll be fine.  I think it's unlikely we will be closing the order book before February.

Thanks for your support.

Cheers

No problem always like supporting the little guys, especially when they make such good products, and thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, I feel they're defintely taking shape bow.  The samples we had at Warley were missing the metal handrails and etched panto heads, which are now in place.

This is another shot from the workbench in Canada - not as clear an image, but offers another angle....

Once they have tested them thoroughly they'll send them to us, and we'll have them for people to inspect at Model Rail Scotland at the SECC in February.

Cheers

Ben A.

Thanks for the extra pic Ben.  More from 'viewing angle' and shows some magnificent detailing. Fantastic!

Hi Mark,

Yes, I have been comparing to the detail shots I took at Brush last year, and I think Rapido have done a superb job.  Really looking forward now to seeing them factory painted!

Cheers
