anyone got an update on these, understood the decision was to be made by end of April.
Ordered another couple last week, so hopefully they have got over the line.
cheers

Ben's said on RMWeb that they said they'd wait until they've dispatched all the Pendolinos before deciding (as they extended the deadline to allow people to receive their Pendolinos before deciding on a 321), but will do so very soon after that.

I've just ordered one in NSE livery. My home unit, I was commuting to London when they were introduced and am still using them now I only go to Billericay. Don't really need one for a Scottish flavoured layout (which isn't based anywhere near 320 country....) but how could I not??  :D

Here's hoping they have got over the line..... :uneasy: :confused1:

We've got around 150-200 Pendolinos to send out still IIRC but orders for 320s and 321s have picked up as the Pendolinos reach people (which we always hoped/thought might be the case).  We have a discussion with Rapido in a week's time after which we should have a clear answer of how we will proceed.

Cheers, Mike

Hi Graham,

That is very kind and much appreciated.

I might add that in part the apology is because we honestly had hoped to have this decision finalised by the end of April, as previously promised, so thanks to everyone for bearing with us to give this project the best chance of going ahead.

Cheers

Ben A.

I've just checked Revolution Trains' details and it appears Silverlink County is a livery option after all.

Some weeks ago I was under the impression from the drop-down menu options then that it didn't make the cut for production because it was my only preferred choice, so ordered and paid for an unpainted version in order to get the 320/321 project over the line.

When will the final livery choices be decided upon?
If the Silverlink County version actually gets produced, I'll change my order from unpainted to Silverlink [will send PM to clarify matters]

There is a sort by popularity option in the main class 321/320 window and this is the order it gives.

Class 321   NSE
Class 321   London Midland
Class 321   Other Liveries (Silverlink Caunty, Northern, White)
Class 320   Scotrail
Class 320   Other Liveries (LM Unbranded, Scotrail, White)
Class 321   First Capital Connect

Hi all,

If this model goes ahead, and it is looking much more likely now, the only confirmed liveries at this time are London Midland and NSE, with 4 different running numbers for each, and Scotrail Saltire with 3 different numbers.

Our mistake with this model was to offer a myriad of confusing variations at the start.   I think we'd have been much further advanced by now if we'd just stuck to a few liveries.

That is our error, for which I apologise, but having said that going forward we would hope that as more progress is shown more people will decide they want one and boost some of the other liveries.

Cheers

Ben A.

As one who has paid a deposit for a 320  in Saltire this is very encouraging news.  Along with the cargowaggons I am supporting it will  help compensate in Allanbrae for the problems Dave has had with the Clayton I had hoped for Portpatrick Town , my GSWR inspired steam/green diesel layout.

Ben,

Does this mean you will look to produce less liveries but more numbered versions of each?

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony,

Yes, in essence.

Each livery requires two elements - painting and printing.

To paint a single livery requires paint masks and other preparations that are costly, so the minimum number of models they'll do is 300-500 units.

The numbers are then printed on using pads; creating these is less expensive so the MOQ can be as low as 75.

The mistake we made at the start of this project was offering too many choices - as we narrowed it down things have improved.

EDIT:  For clarity, FCC, Silverlink County and the other options listed have not been cancelled and we hope still to be able to offer some or all of them, but so far only London Midland, NSE and Scotrail Saltire are confirmed.

Cheers

Ben A.
