Sorry to hear about your wife and I also wish her a speedy recovery.
Give her all the TLC you can.
Best wishes,
Dennis
She who must be obeyed says I am spending too much time on this forum. I love her dearly but what does she know?

Sorry to hear about your wife Chris, hope you hear good news on that front, these sort of things remind of us the important things we sometimes take for granted

She  was  taken to the local hospital quickly and given treatment. Fortunately she seems  to have not lost any movement  or speach so hopefully she will soon be on the mend.

Fingers crossed, but that bit of the bad news sounds like very good news indeed. My Dad had a stroke 11 years ago with exactly the same immediate results and no further problems since. Itís like it never happened

All the best to you both.

My sentiments are those of above too. A speedy recovery and plenty of TLC will work wonders.
You know you're getting older when your mind makes commitments your body can't meet.

Well Thanks everyone for the good wishes which must have worked. She is now home, she was discharged on Thursday Teatime. She was taken to the hospital in good time and then given excellent treatment at the  Hospital, Fairfield Hospital In Bury Lancs, all the staff were brilliant. She is now recovering, she is a little tired which is to be expected, I am now chief cook has well as bottle washer but its a fair price to pay. Good news also she is stopping smoking which is a relief to me, I have tried to persuade her to stop for years. The nurse who came yesterday put it good, she is now in a better position than before, she is now taking medication to prevent a stroke and less chance of having stroke.

Thanks again everyone........ chris

That's great news, Chris. Shame it takes such a thing to stop folks smoking. I smoked for 50 years and only knocked it on the head the day before I had a triple bypass!
All you need to do now is somehow convince your dear lady to pass over some of the money saved for you to buy N gauge stuff. Have your pushbike standing handy at the time, though!

Great news Chris ... so glad to hear that your better half is home and resting. And even better that she's stopping the cigs! As an ex-smoker, I know how hard that is so great that you can support her.
All the best!

Cheers  :beers:

PS: your membership badge for the "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer" club is in the post.

That is good to hear Chris - look after her, (apart from the cooking and bottle washing!  ;)).
