I'm going to have a go at painting some of the switch blades on my layout.  I have bought some tiny brushes and I will sheild the stock rail with a piece of plasticard.  I hope that will cure the pony truck problem shorting as the points are negotiated.

Here is a pic of the point I butchered trying to solder  a wire to the frog while in situ. It was in a awkward place being under the eaves, I should have known better, a bit of a costly mistake to make. You can see where I have melted the sleepers for the v keeping the iron on far too long and pressing too hard.


I have also bought one of those little anvils I saw on someones post, can't remember who's now. I have fixed mine to a piece of ply to attempt to give it more stability. I intend to use it when I start to make some more d&g couplings, I think it will come in handy.
