That crossing is indeed 90. It's the crossing of the tram line with the train line. Since I did not find a code 55 electrofrog crossing of 90, I had to make it myself. It's ugly, but it serves the purpose, and once inbeded in the street, it will be nice and beautifull.

As always Michiel it's a delight to see an update from you.

I really enjoyed your clip.

Trains of the period are so full of character. Plus the original Brussels station trackplan lends a rarely-found authenticity to proceedings.

Nice to hear from you again too Southernboy.

Any news on a follow-up to Frankland ?

Best regards,

Last two weeks I test ran my layout intensively, and I had a rough time with my Littfinski feedback modules. The onboard processor hangs after undetermined time or cause: sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after 5 hours, of running 10 trains non-stop. Very annoying, because the hangup of the modules cause major traffic chaos with collisions and derailments. I've to find an alternative, but that's a story for later.

To relieve myself from the disappointment and frustration, I started something totally different: scratching walls out of plaster. I've scratched 60 cm of wall and glued it together. It needs to dry now before detailing further...

That's a labour of love and you deserve a medal for doing it that way, Michiel.

I continued with the wall in plaster, and started the construction of the signal box in plasticard. It's getting form, but I also see that I've still a lot to learn...

The 5 station through tracks are now automated. I made a short video of the test running, to celebrate this memorable moment.

Chris, Michael and Newportnobby, thanks!
I know that visually nothing changed, but behind the scenes, the wiring and electronics, have changed a lot. Now the entire layout has the basics for running automated (by PC) and to expand easily there were needed.

After a long vacation interruption, trains are running again... hesitantly. I started to construct the platforms of the station and made a short video of the test runs along the platform borders.

Thanks for that, Michiel. I always find your locos and rolling stock fascinating and think, if I wasn't doing UK steam/early diesel, I would very much like your era.
Is all of your stock available 'off the shelf' rather than kit built?
