Thanks Mito!

The wooden panel for the hidden yard is ready. I just need to insulate the wooden beams underneath with a layer of cork. Then I can fix the panel.

I soldered a quantity of recuperated flexible track pieces together, and I find myself now with an oval with passing loop. I prepared a train of 193cm length and 63 axles to test the Peco points. How long will it take before one wheel set decide to leave the track, to live it's own life?

I'll let the train go this evening. So, I'm also curious about the outcome.  ;)

Everything is working out fine. The long trains do like the Peco points. I'm satified. And here is a short video of the trains in action:

Thank you all!

The return loop track has to duck under the future helix (see track plan, red loops). I was wondering about the grade and long trains. So I tested the setup. A single locomotive with a rake of 2 meter climbs the 1% grade without any difficulty! I'm relieved.

A short clip to illustrate it...

Hello guys, I'm back to continue with the next episode of my model railway layout: the hidden yard of Brussels-Luxemburg station. I have drawn out the positioning of all tracks, and began to place the first 3 tracks of the yard. Current goal is to have this hidden yard up and running in an automated manner.

Thanks Joe!  :)

For the moment the modelling is restricted to mainly laying track and drawing wires. But it's a necessary phase to get to the more modelling related stuff.

Michiel,

We always learn something from you, even when you do "simple" things like track laying or wiring.

Keep us posted.

Best regards,

Joe

It's a beautiful day: the first train drove over the first tracks of the hidden yard, still in construction. Ok, still in analogue operation, but it's a fact!  :)
