BM1 is just 5 reasonably beefy diodes four one way and one the other. A BM1 is a very expensive way to buy five diodes nicely packaged

So 10 for these units is expensive, I have looked a round the internet to find something that will put a loco shuttling between 2 stations and these were the cheapest I found for DCC and the only ones except for the DC one that Upnick pointed out, and with the BM 1 the train will come to a slow stop and I am not sure what will happen with the other type whether it will be a sudden stop or what, so realistically for a DCC system for a Loco to run between 2 stops for 2 times 10 it seems quite cheap plus it gives you the option to run other loco's, I am still toying with this idea but have not come to a decision of yet, but one thing is for sure you need an asymmetrical DCC Decoder which start at 30.

The point I was making is you can make your own for under 2 rather than buy a BM1. You do still need the decoder though.
