Thanks for the excellent update, Ollie, despite more bloody advertising for De Walt and your cat being decapitated in photo 5 :P

A lovely set of photos of a lovely layout.  I think a stronger diagonal on the legs wouldn't be a bad idea for more stability.

Nice photos and a very nice little layout there.
If it looks right then it most probably is right.

Afternoon all,

A lovely set of photos of a lovely layout.  I think a stronger diagonal on the legs wouldn't be a bad idea for more stability.

I added a couple of leg braces this past week and it certainly has added some much needed stability to the layout.

In other news, we are show ready! These past couple of weeks have seen some 'finishing' touches added ready for Church Stretton this coming weekend. Ground cover has been added in the yard along with uncoupling magnets by the goods shed. Lots of bushes/hedges have been added along with some final trees along the front. Station fencing has been erected too. Now there are a few more details I plan to add but these will be added in time, such as people and finishing off the station forecourt.

A couple of snaps to show how the layout will look on Saturday.

So roll on April 2nd, Only 5 days to go!

Cheers,

Ollie

Looks great, Ollie, but I'd still like to know how Sheaf found its way to the York Show without you!

Evening all!

So roll on April 2nd, Only 5 days to go!

So it's 8 months later and no update, where has the time gone?!

Wenlock made it's exhibition debut at the Church Stretton show in April this year and it couldn't have gone better. Layout ran a dream and had quite a lot of interest (Including some invited I had to turn down due to work). Given the layout is solely operated with two locos (plus an occasional visit by a certain Blue engine!) I was delighted that there is enough operational interest to keep me going all day. Some of the wagons could do with being weighted but that will come with time.

Here are the very belated pics from April!

Minor details are still needed to be added as the layout has been put to one side as of late. But all being well time will be available in the next couple of months to add these.

I am also in the process of buying my first house (Some serious adulting going on here!) and the property we are buying has already had a railway room claimed. I'm getting me a garage!!

In other news Wenlock is currently booked in to two shows for 2017 (Monmouth in Feb and TINGs in September) with a third provisionally booked (Welshpool in Oct). Lighting is still required on the layout which will be present for TINGs but may still be required for Monmouth.

I'll do my best not to let 8 months pass by again!

Cheers,

Ollie

Good to hear from you, Ollie, and pleased the show went well and MW has further bookings.
Thanks for plugging the forum as well.
As for the house, you do realise this is not adulthood but the onset of pauperism! :worried: ;)

Morning all,

And little update exhibition wise. Wenlock is confirmed to have its second outing in 3 weeks time. This will be at the exhibition held by Monmouth Rotary Club Sunday 12th Feb.

Testing will commence in the next week or so to double check everything is in order. I might even finish of the station detailing if I find the time!

Cheers

Ollie

Morning all,

Well it's show day! Just heading off to Monmouth so please do stop by if you are in the area.

Good luck with the show, Ollie.
Are you still addicted to MK1s?

Ta Mick. Not as much these days, I'd say my collection is around half of what it was at its peak! A future layout is in planning that will require specific MK1s so I'm working on picking up the required ones as and when.

Cheers

Ollie
