Regarding contacting the Revolution Trains Spares Agent. I tried the email address Lindi suggested, user rr@shmm. without success as the mail was returned undelivered.  It appears that the address may not be complete Lindi, have you the full address?
I do believe the agent is on this forum and think he is called Simon. Can anyone help please ?

His user name on here is rr@shmm. That may not be his direct email address. Why not PM him from here, and he should get an email alert.

ok so these may be dumb questions, but I have not run DCC sound before and the Pendolino's are my only sound models. I have run them at home on DC and am very happy with the results to date. I am about to take them to my local club and run them on DCC.

1. on programming do you put both loco's on the programming track so they have the same address, or are they programmed with different addresses and then run as a consist?
2. now to running the unit on the track, do i just start the running the train, or is there a sequence to follow before running?

I have read the booklet from cover to cover and back again, and i think i am being a  :dunce: in not understanding this. Sure I will get this sorted but don't want to make a fool of myself at the club.

any pointers would be gratefully received.
cheers

Hi

Both my power cars have the same number so no need for consisting.

You can just run the train by selecting the address but before setting it going you might want to press F0 to switch on the lights and F1 to switch on the sounds.

Cheers

1. It's easier to give both the locos the same number and then when you control that address, both locos will operate together. You could program them at the same time if you wanted to, any number or CV set would be written to both power cars. It may be easier do each individually though. Something like JMRI DecoderPro takes allot of the hassle out of doing this, if you have it at the club.

2. If the sound is turned off, it will start and stop as you change the speed steps on the controller. With the sound on, if you increase the speed steps the loco will play the 'start up' sounds, then accelerate away. Likewise when you slow or stop the loco it will go through it's braking sounds, then stop and play the shutdown sequence.

ok, another possibly dumb question.
I now have my Pendolino running on DCC, I used a Prodigy set to program the 4digit address I need for running on the club layout. When programming I did not change any of the other variables.
Now when I try and run DC the unit does nothing, so set CV8 to 8 (factory reset) and all comes good on DC.
What have I missed? there must be another setting to allow the unit to continue running on both DC and DCC.

I have read the booklet cover to cover with no joy.

cheers
Graham

You should invest in a SPROG3 and the JMRI software.

With this there is a tick box for DC to be enabled and it is set up to to enable it for the decoder you are using.  JMRI has code for almost all current decoders.

thanks @Snowwolflair for the suggestion, at this stage I have only just started to dabble in DCC as I just retired and joined a club where I need it to run there. At home I am DC with no intention of moving just yet, I borrowed the Prodigy system to address the locos I want for the club and then to fault find. Sounds like this DCC game is going to cost me big time. will continue searching to see if I can find the CV setting in the short term.
cheers

The JMRI software is free and a SPROG is about 60.  Its well worth the investment.

Its like the box they plug into your car at the garage that tells them what is going on.
