fleischmann-796882---n-scale-db-et99-02-track-cleaner loco

My fleischmann loco with fitted track cleaner arrived today.

http://www.osbornsmodels.com/fleischmann-796882---n-scale-db-et99-02-track-cleaning-locomotive-iii-dcc-fitted-24473-p.asp
The finish is well up to standard and the instuctions for running either DC or DCC are quite clear.
Ive only run it for a few minutes this afternoon via DC and it performed well even straight out of the box.
Its a little noisy at present which could be caused by the track cleaners (I still cant make my mind up as to whether they rotate or not).
Over the weekend I should be able to tell better
Its pricey but I think worth it

Just re read Osborn`s blurb on it and it says the discs do rotate.
The picture of it on their site dosnt do it justice

The disc does rotate BUT you need DCC for it to work properly as the cleaner needs the
full 12 volts while the 'loco' uses the DCC impulse/signal for movement at a reasonable
pace.

From the add:

The locomotive is equipped with motor driven rotating cleaning discs. This way the tracks stay clean without having to use liquid.
Replacement grinding discs: 357969. Especially in digital operation mode is a reliable electricity supply most important.

Clicking on the picture on the website shows how detailed it is, even down to the frosted windows  :o

It certainly is a smart looking loco and not a compulsion buy at that price

cheers John.
