Title: Minitrix A4
Post by: motormouser on January 11, 2017, 05:43:23 pm
I am trying to improve a couple of minitrix A4's at the min...... but one seems to have been "modified". Its had the green wire from the tender snipped, and a light put in loco........ any idea what the green wire was originally? Thanks

if you look at the contents of the Train surgery folder ( Hint: click on Train surgery above), you will see that the first fixed thread is called "Minitrix Service/repairs:

the first page has comments about a helpful  website, and reply #8 has a link to your answer.

Green was one of the tender pickups taking power to the loco.

The Minitrix A4 was headlamp fitted originally, so depending whats there, the loco lamp may be original. Of course, it may also have been butchered or modified by previous owner.

Cheers,
Alan
