Oh Lordy. This shone out like a beacon in the sea of mediocrity called humour on television. I haven't had so many belly laughs for ages and am so glad I recorded it for posterity as I must have missed a few things whilst laughing so much. Apart from Royston Vasey slipping further into the sink of depravity it was like the characters had not altered in the 15 years since they were last seen. Wonderfully dark, the team (Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Mark Gatiss, Jeremy Dyson et al) are definitely in a league of their own.

Familiar faces return to Royston Vasey, settling old scores and digging up some old friends, with more bad blood than an abattoir with septicaemia.

Thus reads the synopsis of S4 E1 on our Tivo. Well the first sight of blood was too much for MBH. Once I picked myself up of the floor - the same scene that upset MBH had me ROFL - we switched to watch something more sedate.

Working from home today, so might have to watch it at lunch.
