I should clarify that's some Z gauge track a friend brought along, the bar has a proper N gauge layout too. Note the "N" on the chopstick wrapper, the following characters say "ゲージ", i.e. "gauge". And yes the chopsticks are Shinkansen-shaped.

   Almost worth the trip it would be to see it! May have to order a set of these now: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003PPEBL6/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1456013118&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=shinkansen+chopsticks

After a worrying gap of a few days the coach has now made it into Japan Post's system and apparently is out for delivery.

Official stills and cinematographic footage of the long-awaited arrival of the NGF Coach are still being developed, but luckily this Polaroid shot was made available to the press by an enthusiastic member of the public, who notes that the coach was still drawing quite a crowd even some time after its arrival, here watching it being shunted to make up part of a special excursion train.

Many thanks for this excellent photo. I look forward to the others in due course.

I wish the Mark 1 NGF Tour Coach was still touring as, maybe, this summer, I'll be ready for it to visit Cant Cove?

Looking forward to more photos.

Would look good as part of the bullet train.

Your wish is my command.

Looks fantastic squidy! I was surprised at how well it fit in with the Shinkasen cars :) Your layout looks so lovely as frame, too! I'm excited to see more of the coach's adventures in Eitetsumura :)

Very nice Railsquid and it's a good job the driver was on a go slow otherwise we would have blinked and missed it.

Fortunately the Japanese Shinkansen models are built to 1:160 rather than the usual Japanese 1:150, so they don't dwarf British stock too much.

It was approaching a terminus... I don't yet have a line capable of running those at speed, but they are certainly very zippy at full power. The buffet car in that formation (4th coach) is the one with the motor and it's the most powerful "loco" I have. To make things worse, the whole set cost less than 50 quid new.

Thanks for that.
The coach certainly looks at home in Japan.
Great layout too.
