Yes I'm a bit the same way with upgrading to win 10.  Not sure why I need it despite me getting the free upgrade pop-up at least once a day demanding I do it soon.  I have a little Acer tablet and it's a constant battle trying to stop it updating / downloading new apps in the background -I'm still not sure why all the guff is needed, but I guess I'm not young enough to need to be wired to 'tinternet / facefarce 24/7.  If you've not spread your details out everywhere on the net then I don't think youre at so much risk.
