I've just done a similar thing. I persuaded Sky to send me a hub as opposed to a router as the old router was unreliable. They wanted me to pay something like £70 for the hub and £2.18 for delivery. I asked to be put through to cancellations so I could cancel the whole package and surprise surprise, a hub was promised for free and turned up today. It is a lot quicker than the router but we'll see how it goes before I get too excited.

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

Last of the vistors have now left.

At long last I can get back to some more modelling, I may just have to have a sit down with a  :beers: or two to ponder over my next job. Mrs H thinks I am bringing in the wood for the winter next week, luckily the wood cantina (cellar) is located opposite the layout one. As long as I keep throwing bits of wood about I think I can escape for the whole week.

I didn't know you had some Scottish blood in you, Jerry :confused1:

Jerry Howlett

Mick,
We have GREAT Scottish neighbours who stay here for the summer, I may not have scottish blood in my veins but I sure have a lot of their booze.....
If you were however refering to caber throwing.... I gave that up when I met Mrs "H".

Hope you are venturing south for the meet up.

Sunday pub lunch, yorkshire pudding and a triple helping of stuffing.

I'm sure there were other things I meant to do today

Last years saga of the B & Q greenhouse that wouldn't line up, was solved by the heavy winter snow, as it collapsed under the weight. Today, after prolonged discussions with SWMBO as what to do, I finished clearing the site, dug a hole and installed a small pond (for the frogs), and tomorrow will transfer the rockery from where it is now to around the pond. I just might mark out a track for a small garden railway.  ;)

The trick of it though
Is to not spend the dough
On something you know
Won’t make your railway grow

All the best for the future!  :beers:

But when there is a sale at Hattons
Don't avoid the temptations
And when the postage is free
Open your parcels with glee

Enjoy the large cheque!  :beers:

Expained to Mrs "H" that as I sold a foxhunter kit of the WD last year the Hatton's bargain of £80.50 for the GF version would only cost technically......£45.

Then she got on to the Hatton's website and was entranced by various peoples and Oxford cars.  Result!

Guess I better cook a traditional BRITISH MEAL tonight,
