Hello all, a couple of years ago I bought a 3d print of a North London Rly coach body. I only bought it to really see how good 3d prints where. I very quickly cleaned it sprayed some matt brown on it, glued in some windows on and attached it to a peco 15' wagon chassis. After that I quickly forgot about it.

I have just pulled it out the bottom of a box and thought it would be a good guinea pig to try out painting the coach panels.
I can strip the whole thing down (because I have found a paint stripper that won't melt the plastic or FUD) and I will paint the body maroon and the panels yellow. Just to see how it goes.

Has anyone tried anything like this before? Also, what paints and methods do you think I should try?

Regards

Rob.

Treat the paint as a filler/undercoat and give it a good sand or as I use a rub with a fiberglass pen.  I would then use an acrylic undercoat such as Halfords grey or white to give a smooth painting surface.

then let it dry for +5 days, before you start to paint.

Ok, that's great I will try that and see how it goes.
