My haul from Warley, thought I had missed out on the TEA from Revolution so glad I picked these up from them. Not sure whether to keep the red ones yet.

So you've blown the housekeeping for this month??

The boxes on the table on the Revolution stand were the last from the batch!

I thought I had missed the Greenergy ones so you can imagine how chuffed I was to find some still available. No turkey this Xmas. Wished I had more £'s would have bought the lot, they still had some in the afternoon but alas the wallet had crashed.
Another house move despite "never again" has given me a second floor layout so Geominster Mainline & Heritage Line will be modified and enlarged with siding storage.

My Facebook Diary is Geominster if anyone wants to view it please ask, it is a private group requiring acceptance, thanks.

This then is my third version modified which has been improved from previous efforts and lessons learned.

Geominster was my first project which has now been dismantled. Having learnt so much from  previous Geominster projects this is the latest one.

Latest Youtube video is here.

This is my latest purchase a Union Mills 3F in BR Black. I have managed to convert it to dcc too,I had to shave a bit off the tender to make room for the chip but easy enough.

Having finished off several milling tools trying to shave bits off the inside of UM tenders- what did you use?  In the end I gave up and put the chip in the cab hidden with a storm sheet.

Hi Les, I used a normal drill with care to take has much as possible without drilling through the coal load. Then I used 1 or two different grinding tools out of a mini drill set I have. I then put kaptan tape over the top of the chip.

I bought  a new weathered maroon Western a few days ago. She is currently going through a bit of a change.

She will look Champion when she is finished !
Working doesn't seem to be the perfect thing for me so I'll continue to play.

Meanwhile mine is staying maroon. Looks very dark in the current light but I'm not complaining! Works absolutely fantastically so my lucky streak continues! Also joined the Dapol club at the same time so have placed a order for the Club Schools as well. Well, you can't really say no for a New Schools for £100 including postage! Now that's something I'm looking forward too assuming they have any left.

Cheers,

Jon

Had a great result yesterday, I was told by two colleagues at work that WHSmith in Reading were selling off their N Gauge stock in their small ModelZone section, and they had a Deltic for £74.

I said I couldn't indulge as I didn't have the money to spare. When I got home Friday night I mentioned the sale to SWMBO, where, without a moments hesitation she gave me her card and said 'go get it, you can have £150.'

In early died of shock lol.

So yesterday morning I went down there at opening time, 0800, and saw they had the Deltic for £74, and A1 Tornado for £108. Years working I decided I'd get both and pay the extra on my card.

So I asked a young lad in the store for them. He said the manager had taken the keys home and would be in about 9 o'clock, he'd put the models aside for me.

I lingered in the shop until the manager came in, went back to the model section to see the lad. He went and got the keys, and said the Deltic and Tornado in the display case were the last two N Gauge models in the shop, would I mind having those. No problem says I. Then cheekily i said do I get a discount for having the display items?. He said sure, you've waited over an hour, and they are the display ones, so I'll knock 10% off.

So a Deltic 55005 in blue cost me £67, and A1 Tornado in Brunswick Green cost me £98.20.

One happy boy. And thank you Graham and Chris for the heads up, and my wifey for the early birthday presents 🎁 😊

Well I gave in today and finally got myself one of the Landship train packs from the Excellent Widnes Model Center.

I think once the festive period is over the Bolsters will soon be in LMS grey, Im not sure what treatment the 4F will get, it certainly make my older Farish models look...well old :)

Latest Arrival, a Dapol Schools Class namely the Dapol Club special edition. When it arrived, one of its tender connections had snapped so off went a e-mail to Dapol. Only after sending said e-mail, did I discover the spares included with the model. DOH

Fortunately, a quick job with the screw driver later along with a very quick sorry to Dapol and I now have a beautiful looking loco which is getting steadily better running Schools class. Very happy  :D

Cheers,

Jon
