I would really like to improve anything that makes it look better, run better etc. but I am not super detail person!

Would you perhaps enlarge upon your suggestion as to how and where I source such items ready made,

You'll need to do the research yourself - I don't really have time to do it for you, but handrail wire is commonly available, handrails knobs available from the NGS and 2mmSA, paints from Railmatch and Phoenix, decals from Fox, and check out specialist suppliers like N Brass Loco, BHE and TPM for other bits. Also visit shows and talk to the traders and demonstrators.

There's only one colour for BR diesels - GREEN.

Yeah, greens alright. Here's a couple of green diesels and electrics that you'll enjoy then;

a pillbox (well, it seemed like a good idea - can be decaying beside the line, as per 2010 or so)

And if all else fails, you could actually keep pills in it...

I'm a personality prototype... you can tell, can't you.

What have I done? ...

My first Shapeways order - a pillbox (well, it seemed like a good idea - can be decaying beside the line, as per 2010 or so) and a Harsco rail grinder.  I have a couple of suitable Tomix tram chassis for the rail grinder, and the pillbox doesn't need one!

Cheers,
Phil

Look forward to seeing them  on the workbench Phil    ;)

Hi there H!

With the exception of D7612 (which is the green I'm thinking of), they are way out of my modelling period, but impressive beasties nevertheless. Thanks for posting them!

That's going to look good with a rake of 100 coal wagons behind it  ;)
Whenever I write a letter to someone, I add a footnote briefly explaining Ohm's law. It's my P.S. de resistance.

Unlike its foreign cousins that come with cow catchers, this seems to be fitted with a cow scarer!

Nice model tempting....
Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

Yes that 'orrible Rapido has to come off and I've got 3 bags of detailing goodies that have to be added yet.

A Dapol 9F Evening Star.

Last year Dapol were unable to repair my Dapol 9F Evening Star and gave me a refund.  On Saturday I spotted a new one in the Bournemouth Model Railway Centre shop and got it for £99 (more than I paid for the original but good value for me).  If anyone is interested there is at least one other for sale.

Ian  :bounce:

Saturday: new 9F  :claphappy:
Tuesday: ran in for 45 minutes on slow speed and it locked solid.   :(
Wednesday: posted back to BMRC

Not yet Nick. I only got it on Saturday and I haven't decided which chip to put in it yet. I'm even toying with the possibility of sound.
