Tomix 3205 yard lighting how to power?
« on: December 07, 2017, 10:09:17 am »
Hello this is my first post. I do British outline but have purchased a set of Tomix 3205 lighting towers. However I was expecting a simple wiring affair that I could screw into my gaugemaster transformer... Instead you get the nice little plug... Can anyone offer any advice on parts required or a solution.. also what voltage are they? I assume they are 12v DC but I could be wrong... Apologies for my naivety!!!

My Tomix controller has a few sockets ( non- standard) which I presume would fit your plug!

Will check it tonight for voltage outputs but presume they are 12v

I suggest you cut the plug off ( with 2Ē of wire so that it can be refitted) and fit your own plug to the lights

This is the official version

Thanks for getting back! Knowing the voltage would be really handy and thanks for the link. Ill be taking a look at the back of my gaugemaster but I think they are the old fashioned strip the end of a wire and then screw it in.

you need a 12v DC supply for the LED version ( wall plug PSU from Ebay)

or 16v AC for the bulb version (ditto)
