Free Pies !!!!!!
« on: December 02, 2017, 02:47:24 pm »
 :hellosign:

With my workbench looking like this on a "tidy up day", but generally looking a lot worse, I got so fed up with putting things down and not finding them, particularly when it came to parts from kits.

So I bought from Frey Bentos* this really useful trey for keeping all those little bits together and easy to find  :)

It is great for small kits like this farm cart I made this morning, and also for larger building kits, but does not take up a lot of space on your work surface.

And best of all ..... you get a FREE pie with it  :D  :D

This is the cart made up. Unfortunately it does not fit in the barn, so any suggestions where I should stick it  ;)

* Note other pies are available, but they're not nearly as tasty !!!

All best wishes
Kevin

That looks really nice. I'm jealous.

Oh and the cart looks great too.  :smiley-laughing:

What did you use for straw? Sissel type string?

Hi John,

Yes, we've always called it "hairy string."  It is this stuff .....

I also used it in the pig pen on the "Top shelf" of Windmill Hill, and this stable which will go on the "Bottom shelf".

Coincidentally, both the carts and stable I have used it with are Ancorton models  :)

All the best
Kevin

That's the stuff I was thinking of. Couldn't think of the right name for it.

The Ancorton kits look good. You've made a great job of them. I've only ever build one, the single road bridge which I used on my test board. I only seem to have one pic to hand of it built but found it easy to assemble and its quite robust.

For storing work in progress I like the Ferrero Rocher boxes in rigid transparent polystyrene complete with lid, especially the ones with curved edges that stop tiny bits getting stuck in the angles.

Best regards,

Joe

Hi Joe,

Looks like I may have to do a bit of "research" around the sweet shops of Weymouth  :D  :D

All best wishes
