Kato kiha 110, 111 and 112
« on: January 12, 2017, 11:41:06 am »
I have  a lot of these Kiha DMUs. Including 3 two car dummy sets, two powered cars and a single unpowered car. All have the same couplings grey push to fit couplers. . As one is damaged I would like to either:-
1. Replace with another identical coupler, can anyone give me the part number I need?
or:-
2. Replace with something compatible to Standard Rapido couplers? Again any pointers as to what I want would be gratefully received.

Similar but not the same. While the connection looks right the end that mounts to the carriages is in an Omega shape with a central bar that mounts the connector. They swing in the carriage mount giving very close coupling with the ability to expand on tight curves.

I'll try to go through the stupid procedure for posting a photo later.

Success?

Sorry it's a poor photo but it shows the details.

You are looking for Kato Assy part 6045c3

Annoyingly sold out at HS (others may have the parts, but don't bother with Gaugemaster, you'll never get it) - but Kato seem to re release their spares quite regularly, so keep an eye out.
