Another couple of hours snatched in the name of loco restoration... :)

A couple of Warships and the LBSC E2 tank progress a little:

Sweet, isn't she? :) Just a bit more lining to do and the cabside numbers. She'll be on ebay over the next couple of weeks!

Back from international duty! I've been away on the other side of the world (some work, some family time), so loco time has been rather curtailed...

First job I was capable of doing with near-terminal jetlag was finishing off this pair of Warships:

Really lovely work, Gideon. I fancy D831 in early BR Blue with small yellow warning panels (I have a colour photo.) if you ever come across a Minitrix "Warship" which is still a very good runner (so worth converting to DCC) but has a body in bad cosmetic condition. (But that's for the future.)

Funny you should say that... I just bought a job lot of Warships spares/repair! Mechanically these locos are generally very robust and can normally be restored to excellent running order with a bit of love!

I have quite a few shells, too - some are OK, some need repairing, so I could do D831 quite happily. The small warning panels are a bit of a bugger to get right, but as you know I love a challenge! ;)

Many thanks, Gideon. Maybe June / July, as I know you've got plenty of work on and my WR Mogul should arrive, from Tony, in a week or two.

Colour photos. of D831 "Monarch" in BR Blue Small Yellow Warning panels, in 1967, can be seen here:

D831 had larger arrows on the cabsides and its numbers below the engine room windows on the bodysides. The early BR Blue is, probably, a somewhat different shade ('chromatic blue', I believe).

I'll have to email you another one, Gideon.
