Had some good little convo's with TDU on here from time to time, especially being around in the wee small hours of the morning when it's mostly me and the Antipodean contingent online.

Best wishes to his family.
Sad to hear this. My sincerest of condolences. I read quite a few of Colin's posts and know he was a regular contributor to the forum. My thoughts go to his family.

I had an email from Penny, his wife, informing me of his sudden passing.
I am really stunned by this news as we chatted long before they emigrated to Australia.
He then had months to wait for the container containing his layout before he could get up and running again.
He was full of ideas for gadgets and gizmos that could be added to our layouts and I shall dearly miss being one of his testers.
John.
So sad. Like everyone, condolences to the family and friends, especially Penny.
He helped me a few times in PMs and many a time in general posts.
Don't know what to say, bit shocked.
RIP Colin
Sad news Indeed, having read many of Colin's post he always stuck me as an ingenious and helpful person who will missed by us all. My condolences to the family, my thought are with you at this time.
Ray
RIP Colin, never actually 'spoke' to you but enjoyed your postings. Will be sadly missed.
Roger
Very sad, always enjoyed reading his posts.
As a new member here I didn't get to know him but from what I see in this thread he was obviously well respected. Sad news.
Allan.....
Sad news indeed, and certainly a shock.
Colin's posts were always interesting and helpful, and his skills in the electronics field were formidable. When he developed a design for an arc welder simulator using a microcontroller and decided to make it available to members as a kit, I was honoured to be asked to be one of his testers.
While never having met in person, the kit led to a couple of phone conversations where we commented on each others accents and compared our experiences as ex-pats. When I mentioned some unique South Australian road signs, he kindly took photos of them for me on one of his trips to Adelaide.
A couple of recent pms between us have almost got me considering starting on a small American layout!
I will miss his friendly presence on the forum.
My condolences go to his wife and family.
RIP mate.
George
So sorry to hear this, he will be missed on the forum, condolences to his friends and family.

I add my sincere condolences to the many listed here.

That is indeed very sad news.
I can only add my codolansces to those of others
This is bad news. I had noticed that Colin's corner of the world had gone quiet over the last month such is his participation in this forum.
He has been and will be missed.

So, so, sad. My thoughts are with his family.
Sorry to hear; I haven't been on this forum long but certainly one of the user names I've come to recognize well.
Sorry to hear this.
Jerry
I'd like to add my deepest condolences to Colin's family and friends.
Colin and I had been working on and off for about 2 years to try and make a cheap and reliable coach lighting system. This came about when he offered to purchase some bits from DCC Concepts in Australia and post them on to me, saving duty etc.
I have to say the majority of the ideas came from him with me constantly in awe of his electronic knowledge. Sadly the project was never completed and not sure whether I want to go on.
He was a Buddy and a very generous guy,
RIP mate,
Rob.
My condolences to his family but his unexpected passing is very sad for all of us here in the N gauge brotherhood.
I never knew or had any contact with him, but it's always a shame when someone who was popular and well respected says goodbye for the last time.
Mark
Would it be appropriate to start a " Garden of Rembrance "thread?
A sad loss and a great contributor to the forum, I'm sure he will now have his dream layout as he deserves it.
RiP trainsdownunder.
Very sad to hear this news. I will miss Colin's knowledgeable posts. A sad loss to our N Gauge community.
My condolences to his family. RIP
Very sad news. He will be missed very much. Like George I never met Colin but exchanged a few calls and emails as we sent parcels back and forth.
Bart
That is sad. Whilst a relative 'newbie' on the forum, I read his posts with interest and he always struck me as a nice, very knowledgeable and helpful man. My condolences to his family and friends.
Very sad news. My condolences to his family and friends.
:(
This news struck me particularly as I had the pleasure of meeting Colin in person last year while in Oz. We had some good days out in and around Adelaide and up the line running to Port Augusta. A real gentleman.
I found this photo that he sneaked into, taken at Adelaide National Railway Museum almost exactly a year ago.

RIP Colin
So sorry to read about this. My condolences to his family.
Very, very sad news. I found Colin to always be willing to sort out a problem, particularly regarding lighting. He was so creative in designing circuits and kits to make it easier for people like me. As has been said previously, he will be a big loss to the N gauge community.
My condolences to his family and friends.
RIP Colin
To be honest, I don't really know what to say. Colin was a great guy, full of ideas. We chatted regularly by email about various projects. He had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the U.S. Railway scene and I often picked his brains.
I didn't know he was unwell, it must have been a great shock to his family. My thoughts are with them at this very sad time.
Terribly sad news.
My condolences to his family and friends
RIP Colin :(
Been away for a break and came home feeling on topof the world!
Reading of the demise of a friend has brought me down to earth with a bump!
Not only a friend "n"gauger but also a friend woodturner here at home.
Makes me feel very vulnerable!
Thankyou for the update.
Peter.
Just wanted to say how sad and sorry I was to hear this news.
My condolences go to all his friends and family.
A tragic loss to all who new him. R.I.P Colin.
