When I joined , Tank asked me what name to use so I said I will never be ashamed of anything I might post so use my real name .

I didn't realise that there was such a problem with members not being able to upload photo's on here. :-\  Surely it can't get much more simpler than clicking 'Reply' and then 'Add image to post and upload to gallery'? ???

What do members want to make it easier?  Am I missing something?  I don't mean to sound rude.  It's always great to receive feedback, and I always want to improve on how the forum works.

I joined to keep in touch with people then realised everyone had all my details anyway, FB kept trying to dig for info and I didn't like how it worked so I cancelled everything (no loss to anyone -they all have my details).  I'd never consider a FB or any other social media account now, leave that to others.

As to the NGF I have asked before where is Graham Farish and Dapol, Hattons or Rails of Sheffield etc etc?  Love the forum but it is a LONG way off being off the best n gauge forum.

....Seems to me photo hosting is an issue.  And personally I get really miffed when I click on a pic on here  and told I don't have permission to view.  Being a Photobucket user I don't understand.  It is SO easy to post a pic.  Forums got too unreliable so as soon as I switched to a hosting site everything got much easier afterwards.

@Tank Just want to say I have no problems loading photos directly into a post from my iPad photo library.

It maybe that folks have more trouble uploading many photos at a time into their gallery, and then posting them from there. I'm not sure I get that bit right myself, but I might just be doing it wrong. :confused1: sometimes I get odd problems, but it's never the end of the world.

I know from my family just how easy it is to copy and paste photos into Facebook, but that is another animal altogether than this SimplePortal. Facebook has a bit more money and a hell of a lot greater man power to run it.

Okay so it takes a bit longer here, but are we really in that much of a hurry these days?  :hmmm:

But then I'm retired so have all the time in the world! :P

Thank you Tank - as one who on the occasion I tried posting photos, found the experience horrendous  and offputing.  At that time, the "Add image etc" link did not seem to be there and having crawled over the system it appeared to me the only way was to create a gallery and then proceed from there.  I found that very annoying.  Then I found the process was slow and unresponsive esp with more than 1 0r 2 pics at once.  So I eventually tried again one at a time.  Looking at my Gallery now the same photos are in several times - so they had posted without that fact being apparent.

However the link you mention appears to show equivalent to Facebook's options to post a pic to a specific post direct or creating an album.  In due course I will try it, but prima facia it seems my issues are resolved.  Great.

Nice pic, that!

wish it was mine! loL.  Another quick test as to how easy to upload (this one is mine).  If this works then it blows how perceived it is difficult to upload pics direct, though I personally would use a 3rd party site..

Steamie+

Well it is easy to post photos on the forum.
These are taken from my back garden early sunrise last year.

So why is it people who go on FB are not posting their photo's and videos on the main site, they have some really brilliant photo's and videos and some of their questions would be answered better and quicker i feel on the main site.   Happy Modelling.

There is such a lot to see and read, but would like to see it on the main forum has well.   Happy Modelling.

Ha! Is this a cunning plan to get me to join Facebook  :hmmm:

If I click on your links Steamie it asks me to log in or join first. :D

Happily I resisted the temptation.

Glad to see so many are now discovering how easy it is to post photos here.
Could mark the end of Facebook. :D ;)

Fingers crossed!

That worked, it seemed to be a lot more complicated last time.
