Hello, from yet another new member
« on: Today at 01:08:18 pm »
Hello, and thank you for letting me join this extremely informative forum.

I have been putting together (it can hardly be described as building) an n-gauge railway over the last few years. Initially I was using analogue controls, but I'm much more into watching trains start & stop by themselves than driving the railway.
This was done on the first incarnation using a Gaugemaster module that used reed switches & magnets to achieve the desired affect.
The railway is now DCC - controlled using an elink & RailMaster. To achieve the 'automation' I use ABC braking modules wired up to colour light signals & then use timers within railmaster to ensure trains have reached their stopping points before sending further commands. I have posted more info about this on the Britmodeller site (look for Shedend) and on my own site:

Hello Andy, and welcome to the forum
I'm a complete dunderhead when it comes to electrickery and similar black arts so a lot of what you're doing escapes me. Great website with some nice vids. Is Shedend just generic SR or set in any particular location on that region please?

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum. You lost me after "elink & Railmaster"! There will be plenty of members who know what you are on about though.  :)

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

Purely generic - I grew up very close to Wanborough Station & the family were very much involved with the railway, hence the Southern connection.
