That's going to be a very impressive layout. I'm looking forward to seeing it in action!
So are we!

Iíve estimated we still have at least 30 hours of wiring work to do.
Work has started on the buildings but they wonít be ready to be planted for a while.

Somewhat oddly the Hawes branch appears to be abandoned and overgrown before it has even been used.

Don't let the local fly tippers know about that!

They look suspiciously like servo mounts, with microswitches attached for frog polarity switching.

I'll be interested to see what will run on the Hawes Branch!

Yes they are servo mounts (MERG I think) with servos and microswitches for frogs. Real railways seem to love double slips which are a pain to wire up.

The branch should host a small ex LNER loco and coaches. I believe we will have something suitable. We will also have to take a pragmatic approach at times and run some sort of auto train using an auto shuttle at times. This will keep the branch running if we donít have enough operators to run it fully.

I'd hate to think of that being caught up in a loco's gears so maybe a weedkilling train should be the first down the branch :hmmm:

It will all be vacumed before anything will be allowed to run on it,I've still got one more board to do,then there's the shrubbery and perhaps a small tree or two, then it's on to the buildings if I can get past the cameraman.

Somehow, I think I am the cause of the temporary closure of the Hawes Branch as I was the 'Apprentice Static Grass Applicator' dealing with this section of the layout.

Iím sure it will all vacuum up with no problem. Just struck me as worth a photo in ďdisusedĒ state.

I didn't think there was quite as much static grass on the tack when i left it the week before.  Quite effective as a 'closed line'.

It does look good , and yes a good vac will clear most evils - I have had some ebay non runners that just needed a de grassing ! and clean - the gear grease was a "lovely" lurid green paste.
