Blagdon Layout
« on: August 21, 2018, 01:42:47 pm »

Here's my new layout, based on Blagdon. I'm going to build it with Kato Unitrack on a lightweight foam baseboard. The track arrives tomorrow and I'll start building the baseboards next week.

The layout is being built around two sides of our spare bedroom and is a terminus to cassette fiddle yard layout. The long side is 10'6" and the short side 4'. This is phase 1 of the layout. Phase 2 will continue the running line aound along a third wall to make a u shape.

Thanks, Dave, but is there meant to be a track plan somewhere?

If it looks right then it most probably is right.

Sorry, I should have posted to say that I've sorted the problem I was having with inserting images.

Hi Dave,

Looking forward to your build. Looked up Blagdon and presume it's the one south of Bristol? Also, what era are you going to model?

Apologies if already discussed before in planning etc.

Anyway, good luck with the board build.

Cheers weave  :beers:

Thanks. You got the right Blagdon, it was the terminus of the Wrington Vale Light Railway. Iím not going for an out and out prototype, the platform and sidings will be longer and thereíll be an engine shed and goods shed too. But Iíve spent ages looking for a station thatíll give me some reasonable operating options and this looks like a good option. All the trackís arrived and Iíve got the baseboard materials, so Iím making a start today!
