Have Yahoo tightened up their security settings?

I ask because here I am 15 days into 2017 and no spam mails not, of course, that I want any but it just makes such a refreshing change

Was it Yahoo that was hacked recently? I haven't had any spam either.

If they have they will probably have tightened it too much as a response to the largest hack yet discovered of over a billion accounts. Incidentally it took place in August 2013 but was only discovered recently.
It is a bit of an embarrassment to them as it was found during the due diligence prior to the company being sold to Verizon (a USA phone provider).
