I had considered using the metcalfe factory entrance for one end of my inglenook, but decided that I want to try using plastic kits with this one to see how I like them by comparison :) You may want to add some lining to the walls as you go (paint or another slip of card), so that the light doesn't cause the walls to appear translucent (a problem I've had with metcalfe kits). Sorry if I'm trying to teach my grandmother to suck eggs! Thanks for the update and I'm excited to see it taking shape :)

Philip

I would line the building if I was going to run the lamps at full power but I only intend to run them at about 3 volts which gives a lovely warm glow as I find running them at  full 12v gives a really strong white light a bit like a stadium flood light which is a bit unrealistic for internal lights.

The Metcalf Gate house and tower has been bashed to make it narrower so as to fit the available space,I have just noticed a couple of edges I still need to touch in, photos are good for showing your mistakes.

Hi Ditape can I be the first to order some roundtuits there are so many things I need them for .
I need them for doing the scenery on my new board ,I had a cold over Chtistmas so never got round tuit
There are a few kits Ive had for a while that need building when I  get round tuit .
And my cold developed  into a chest infection and I was going to tidy the shed up but youve geussed I havnt got roundtuit so do you give a discount  if I buy your round tuits in bulk please.

FRESHBROOK:- A little more done today,I have also assembled the first of the cassettes the connecting cables can be seen hanging over the end I am using Tamiya type battery connectors to connect the cassettes to the layout the visable cables will go down thru' the baseboard and connect to the bus behind the back scene.(the buildings are only placed temporarily so are not sitting quite square)

FRESHBROOK:- I have installed the Dapol magnets as per the instructions, they seem to be pretty large and will need to be camofluaged in someway even when ballasted they are rather obvious.Luckily Freshbrook is a experimental layout so I have a chance to play around with smaller magnets or mounting them differently.

I'm sure I recall someone on the forum slicing sleepers in half and gluing them to the top of the magnets which they had halved in size, Di.
It might have been Ollie3440 as it would take some younger eyes than mine to attempt such.
