Nice A4s. I have three unvalanced and am not allowed to buy any valanced ones :(

I need to stop buying them!  Have managed to talk myself out of trying to have all 35 of them though 😂

That's crazy talk, of course you need all 35! How many do you have currently?

No wonder you've already organised a Gathering of the A4s. The next Gathering will be even more spectacular, then. There must be an exceedingly rich A4 fan (or many fans) living in that part of Perthshire! 8-)

A very strong following for A4's in Perthshire owing to the numbers that passed through Perth enroute for Edinburgh or Aberdeen - I will need to build a backstory around why there are so many preserved and the colourful collection of owners and how they came to acquire them :)

I seem to remember that, back in the day, photographs of A4s always seemed to be of them leaving or going to Perth.
With kind regards

Fortunately, the only damage that was sustained to the class 14 was the front coupling - it is one of the newer type that pull out, so I was able to extract it and fit a replacement (albeit a short one, which is too short really) I have ordered a set of standard ones, so will replace it at the weekend.

I had a look (and another look) at the "St Andrew" class 47 on the Rails of Sheffield link you sent... but while it is my favourite diesel loco class, I managed to resist! - was also sorely tempted by the NCB livery Class 04 - but I have been a bit indulgent again this month, so need to resist temptation on this occasion!  At a recent committee meeting the PRPS Treasurer indicated that the society is in danger of its expenditure on loco's and rolling stock exceeding it's revenue streams from visitors + refinery & distillery operations - to avoid un-necessary disposals, new loco purchases have been put on ice  (until the Treasurer is distracted elsewhere) :)

But the NCB class 04 is very good looking. Bargain too.... :)

Impressive indeed! However, we will, of course, require photo and video evidence to really believe you :p

That won't be a problem  :) There are still a couple away with Wickness, but hoping that they will be back soon, or at least one of them will, so I shall wait for them  so as to get the best possible picture  :)

Excellent. What are they having done at Wickness, are you having them sound fitted?

Sorry for the late reply, I got carted into hospital on Wednesday evening & still here! Feeling a lot better now, just hoping they willl give me the all clear soon!

I only have a couple still at Wickness, it is just straight DCC conversion of older GF chassis's (not sound) - he had Union of South Africa & Silver Fox on his bench, hoping to get them back soon though.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Andrew. Will "Union of South Africa" be in its preserved condition of immaculate BR Late Crest Lined Green and "Silver Fox" in LNER Garter Blue with the fox in silver?

I hope you get the all clear quickly, Andrew, although experience tells me they don't usually release patients back into the 'wild' at weekends :hmmm:
