3. The Black 5 with I'm working on with the self weighing tender is ready to have her number applied. I still need to finish the tender.

Sounds interesting - when you're next photographing do take a picture of this one for us.

Cheers,
Alan

Inspiration of a marvellous thing??

A recent holiday to Cornwall, provided some inspiration for a number of things, and even led to thoughts of a little GWR layout, who would have thought it, and it may even justify some of the GWR stock I accumulated over the years.

I may have to start another layout blog..... BE AFFRAID BE VERY AFFRAID

Well a little time spent today, has resulted in a pair of 4F's taking another step towards entering the Foster Street roster.

Just to introduce a little interest to the fleet, one of the 4F's will have a tender cab, the other may be relatively clean which will be relatively rare for me, plus it has the rather excellent Deely tender, if only Farish released these as stand alone items along with the Fowler one......

Good for you !
I look foward to a bit of a GW main line - say Box tunnel to Middle hill tunnel - two Iconic tunnel mouths, top rated route for all main traction, and no points so you could make it a quicky to show off all the brass work!

Or if you want four track Sonning cutting calls.

Perhaps Severn Tunnel to Ableton lane crossovers as well - gets in 2-8-0 coal action.
BLT, no think BML...

Who said anything about a Mainline? The Castles and Halls in the collection will have to wait.

I was thinking tank engines

Well I managed to spend a little time modelling today and I have managed to finish off the two 4F's I have been working on.

All I need to do now is find my camera so I can take a couple of photographs.

Well after what seemed like and age on the workbench, these two locomotives have entered the locomotive fleet.

Now what other locomotives can I add to the fleet?

Thanks Laurence

The only problem with freight engines, is that at exhibitions when then just plod around the layout, people have plenty of time to see then warts and all. The operating team are practicing new ways of diverting the attention from the freight trains, God help us..........
