Building card kits
« on: August 11, 2011, 04:22:24 pm »
I've just started building some of the Scalescenes range starting with the free low profile warehouse.

This glue applicator was recommended so I sent for one.I'm really impressed with the fine spots of glue that can be dispensed.

Thanks for the link, Allan. I've ordered one as it looks a very useful tool.

I quit smoking a few years back in favour of the ecig. (good move by the way)  Well, anyhow, the other day I was in my local vapery for supplies when I spotted a range of plastic bottles with metal needle tips.  Vapers use them for mixing flavours.  Some of these were exactly the same as I had paid almost 1:50 for as glue dispensers a while back.  In the vape shop - 30p... And, they come with a silicon sealing cap also.  Ideal for card modellers...  Available, at least in the place I use, in a range of sizes.....

Check that you are buying the ones with metal needles, some places only stock the plastic tipped ones I'm told.....

There, doesn't that feel better?
Lovely!

I'm not sure if these will work, but a lot of people at work are now 'vaping' i've pinched some of their empty bottles as they have metal needle tips on them. I hope they will work for PVA.

I'm not sure how to clean out the 'vape juice' residue but the virgin bottles that I bought work very well. The juice that I use comes in a bottle with a plastic tip so I haven't tried those. But, at pennies for the new needle tip ones, I don't think I'll rush to experiment. If you are able to clean them out, so much the better. The only juice that I tried with a metal tip was not refillable, while the bottles that I have bought have a removable top.

I've never thought of 'vaping' PVA as I could come to a sticky end  :laugh:

You shouldn't be smoking at all, Mick.

Didn't your ma tell you it would stunt your growth?!  ;)

I haven't touched a smoke since 18th Jan this year, Dave :no:. The day before the op. There are still times I could murder someone for one, though :worried:

@daveg

The first couple of years after I quit, I was still patting my pockets before I went out, to make sure I had my cigarettes and lighter. You never really give up, it's just a long time between drags.
I'm not sure if life is passing me by, or trying to run me over.
