Interesting indeed, but I can't yet work out the real implications. The Manor is a stunning model, but Dapol basically made it for Ixion based on Ixion's engineering. So perhaps the big possibility is that Dapol's products are going to get even better even faster. In particular, I wonder whether we will see the connection between loco and tender pickups upgraded from the fragile single wires used on the Hall to the much more robust PB springs used on the Manor.

Meanwhile, what will Ixion do next in N? (I'm still hoping for an SR Schools class 4-4-0.)

They announce a mogul a couple of years back but seem more interested in big stuff. I have doubts we will see any more N Gauge from them for 2-3years. This only my opinion based on no sound knowledge.

Very interesting !! I had been trying to get a Manor on Ebay for a while , at a REASONABLE price , not many come up , so I had it down as a saved search with email when the item is listed . After a couple of unsuccessful goes , I got a message about one for sale . When I looked at the item , it was an Ixion director (I think it said) who was selling off remaining stock of Manors . It was an OK price so I bought one straight away (worth the wait !!) . I looked again the following week - non left & it said that the guy was no longer registered with Ebay . Maybe they have packed up !!??!! . Ric

Ric, gone bust, that's the first thing that came to my mind. Sad to say it's no great shakes to me, I have no interest  in more GWR locos. Cheers john.

I would be very sorry if they have gone bust, not only for the employees who could be out of work but also because we as N gaugers lose a manufacturer :(

Dr Al

They have not gone bust as the press release said they were progressing with their 7mm scale models.

Hi

Just been to Dapol's N'thusiasts Open day for Club members.

Bought a Ixion Manor for £45

Also got a seemingly near perfect B17 'Hall' for 15 quid from the scrum rejects table (marked as 'not quite perfect'). Only fault I can find is that it does not like going backwards over some insulfrogs but it never will on my layout - Bargain or what!!

Cheers

Mac
