Bring back Tennant. This incarnation was more like Sylveste McCoy and I hated it. Sorry.

I did like Killing Eve though. Binge watched it. I like my women scary. And not because she can weld scary.

Well, I caught it here last night in Canada on Space.

and quite enjoyed it, I think it has potential and Jodie Whittaker 'felt' suitably alien and looked like a Dr.Who.  I like the way you could almost see some of the crazy in her eyes.  I think it'll take some good writing, but I'm very hopeful.  And its about time the Dr is a Lady, I mean of all the scifi franchises, Dr.Who actually builds in the regeneration so its waaaaay beyond time.  I mean if you lived that long and could regenerate wouldn't you want to spend a couple of lifetimes as a woman?

The Master became a Mistress so there is precedent?

Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;

Yeah, the Master was great, but Missy was several levels greater, I didn't know whether to be terrified or in love or both!.. actually probably both, there's something very compelling about that level of indifferent confidence and wickedness!

Undecided. Shades of The Crystal Maze with people running from place to place and arriving 'breathless' before deciding what to do. I do like the new 'sonic screwdriver with Sheffield steel' and the fact the Doctor hasn't quite got to grips with what she is yet but am also disappointed to hear none of the old 'enemies' will be appearing. As ever the BBC do wonders with effects.
I've been a Dr Who fan for more years than I can remember so will continue to watch as I think it will improve.

I don't think it needs old enemies. At one time, years could go by between appearances by the daleks. Doctor Who's routine, instant travel in space and time gives it limitless potential to explore other things.

Yeah, but for 40 or so years I've loved the Daleks. Much better than Toothy McToothface IMO.

Ooooohhhh this is promising!

Just finished watching the first two episodes back to back (1st catch-up, second "as aired") and I am very happy with it.

New direction, new feel, good production values and already a Dr Who is making it her own BUT with definite hints and due reverence to the past

Of the two; marginally preferred the second episode, because it was Dr Who at its best with a mini story and progression and something new all together.

If these "Blue Tooth" (ha! Just said that outload!) dudes are the main enermy then got to say not that scared of em. Nasty pieces of work for sure, but not as dark as cyber men or the silence or the evil-wheely bins (though we had evil scraps of tarporline this time round, which is new).

However.....leave off with the old stuff for a bit. We have had the Dalek threat in every single new series since Eccleston and they need to lay low for a bit.

Keep up the good work, IMHO.

Wasn't so keen on the latest episode but loved the new Tardis - very RTD era. I don't think think it will be long before the Moffatt era will just seem like a bad dream.

I agree with the general sentiment, I am enjoying the new series very much. Chibnall seems to have a nice touch with dialogue in particular.

Yaz: "Are we going to die?"
Doctor: "One day, yes. It comes to us all. But not right now. Not if I've got anything to do with it!"

One of the writers once said that the best way to tell if the Doctor's dialogue is true to the character is if you can hear any of the Doctors saying it. I can hear any of the last 4 incumbents saying that line and sounding good so it definitely passes the test for me.
