Thanks guys.
My asthma has been really bad the last couple of weeks, my lungs are a mess. They only diagnosed it about 9 months ago and now I feel like an invalid at 63!
I've been on steroid tablets since Tuesday and it seems to be slowly getting better.
I'd better not stay on them too long as I don't think they do bras in my size  :o

Snap! :)

Asthma diagnosis aged 63 in March, now 64, on steroids, feel like an invalid, but getting better.  Oh yes, and my names Mike too. Just finding that the steroids are stopping me sleeping.

Empathy and best wishes for your continued improvement.

And don't worry about the bra problem. Bravissimo make for any size I understand. :D

Love the display layout in a box you have there . Very neat.

Wishing you a successful show, today, Mike, and much energy. I had never heard of 'late onset' asthma before. I hope you'll be able to overcome the problems.

There's a big crowd here today, very stuffy, and I am really struggling to breath, my chest is killing me. My asthma came about because I have an allergy that I ignored for years - at night my nostrils close right up and I end up breathing through my mouth. Apparently that really chills the air, which aggregates your lungs and eventually causes asthma. I now have a steroid nasal spray that keeps my airways open - but about 20 years too late. My asthma seems to be getting much worse very quickly, which is very scary!
Off topic I know, but if one person reads this and realises that they have the same problem and catches it early it will be worth it....

Very sorry to read that, Mike. Thanks for the important warning.

Thanks for sharing that advice - I had pretty bad asthma as a kid... shook it off about 17... but was always told it would return in later life.... which is rapidly approaching!  So I fully understand what you are going through - hope you manage to contain it and keep on modelling your layouts are fantastic - love the detail you manage to get into them.

The box layout is another cracking example of this - the weathering on the buildings is great :)

Those liners bearing down on the TMD are still a bit unsettling though!

Cheers,
Andrew

Just a small update on Wookerey TMD & Goods
The layout makes its exhibition debut tomorrow at the Maldon show in Essex.
It was in our club open day at the end of last year, but this is its first outside exhibition proper.
Two kind friends at my club have scratch built me two beautiful little loading platforms to replace the crappy ones that I built!  :beers:
I've been doing a little scenic settling in for them this afternoon, so thought I would take some pics:

I think that they have made a superb job of them, I am delighted with them.  :D

Wookery TMD & Goods will be appearing at the Witham Model Railway Exhibition tomorrow Sunday 21st 10am to 4.30pm
Witham Public Hall, Collingwood Road, Witham, Essex CM8 2DY

Having been exhibited several times at shows in the area, Wookery TMD will now go up for sale at this show.
It was built for use as part of our trade stand, but as retirement is now looming we are gradually running everything down.
The sale will include an NCE DCC controller and all buildings and scenic items as shown, but will exclude motor vehicles, engines and rolling stock.
Points are electrically operated from Kato switches in the control area. It all works perfectly.
It is a very versatile layout, giving lots of operational possibilities.
It is designed for use with Dapol easishunt couplings, with magnetic uncouplers at key points in the track.
Everything, including the backscene, packs into the carrying case for ease of transport.
If anybody on the forum is interested give me a shout.

Very sorry to read that Wookery is going to be retired, Mike. I hope that you will have a replacement layout, in due course, where you can still run your trains.
