Given my 390045 '101 Squadron' a good running in now and had a play with tested the sounds on DCC.

While she was gliding around the test track, I managed to pull a few strings and organize a special flypast:

My test track will only cope with 5 cars, but here's a photo of City of Manchester waiting for my layout to get a continuous run.

Hello all,

Loving the two previous shots.

The VC-10 is in my view one of the most beautiful aircraft ever to grace the skies!

Cheers

Bloomin loud as well, had one do a Go-around once and the very ground shook.

Also good pub quiz fodder, when Concorde retired they were the fastest passenger carriers in the sky.

Hi Gang,

Nice shot of the Pendo with the VC10. I have had the privilege of many journeys in said aircraft...always a joy and the quirky rearwards facing seats on a passenger jet (whilst in RAF service) just added to the fun. Favourite seat was last row on the starboard side..with a fold out table and best legroom.

Later,
Stu from EGDL.

Fitting then, to have it posed with one of the most beautiful models of one of the most beautiful trains to ever grace the (UK) rails.

Hi folks

We've now processed approximately 90%+ of the orders (as of 23 May 2018) - over 900 Pendolinos sent out!

We've been working through missing payments/order queries and we've now sent at least one email to everyone in the order book. If you have not received your Pendolino order or seen an email from us please check your emails / spam box!  If still nothing then please drop us an email.

Next steps

Missing/incomplete/incorrect orders: if you have already contacted us about a missing/incomplete/incorrect order then we're working through them and will resolve them as quickly as possible - no need to contact us again.

Spares and repairs: if you spot a missing or broken part, or you have a problem with your Pendolino then please contact us using the details in the instruction manual - that helps us make sure that we get your email and forward it to the correct place.  We've received a large shipment of spares and these have now been passed on to Rapido's servicing agent.  Again if you've already been in touch with us we are starting to pass your queries through to Simon who will be in touch shortly.

Cheers, Mike

Well, I went to my office for the first time in a couple of weeks today and there was a massive cardboard box waiting for me from Canada!  :claphappy:

Have opened that box to find inside the 11 -car pendolino set, nine light bars and a small bag of screws.  :claphappy:

Haven't opened the pendolino box yet. Will probably pull out the manual for the hour-long bus-ride home tonight though!

Perfect timing... Friday night is club night at my local club....  :D
Still planning a layout...

Read through the manual last night once I got home. Very comprehensive and easy to follow. It is also one of the most readable (and witty) manuals I have read.  :beers:

Hats off to Rapido for the quality of that work - will report back on how 'Penny' goes tonight at my local club....

Charles.

When I went up to my 'local' club (The MRC), all my fellow N Gauge club members said to me was: “Have you got your Pendolinos yet...?”, to which I replied: “No, not yet...!”. :(

When I finally got home, very late, in the early hours of Friday morning(!), I was pleasantly surprised to find two largish boxes that my own dear mother had taken in, earlier that day... :hmmm:

...when I looked closely at the boxes (that I clearly wasn’t expecting...!), they had ‘Revolution’ stamped on them...! Wow...! I thought: happy days are here...! :claphappy:

I am now the happy and proud owner of four 11-car Pendolinos. :)

Whilst I have not subjected them to the same ‘forensic’ level of examination that some of you have(!), they all seem OK. I have yet to run them. As they are all DCC Sound fitted, I will have to wait until I'm next up at the MRC to run them on their Test Tracks (which are DCC-fitted).

Thank you Mike, Ben, Jason (and Uncle Tom Cobbly and all...) :thankyousign:

Now, I really must use that Class 321 Voucher before it really is too late...
...and end up with another 2 more NSE liveried sets...
Can we have more number options, Gents...? ???

Charles.

Well, I tested ‘Penny’ out last night on Royden, the US outline N Gauge DCC layout at Sydney’s Hills Model Railway Society and all I can say is “Wow”

Without doubt, the finest N Gauge Model I have ever seen, let alone had the privilege of owning.

This model raises the bar considerably for other suppliers. If I had any regrets they would be:

1. Why did I buy ONLY one?
2. It looks like this has given me the modern image bug! I can see that it will need companions...

Hello Jon,

Thanks for your very kind words.  We are absolutely thrilled with the work Rapido have done to create this model.

I must say your club layout looks superb!  Thanks for taking the time to post the video.

cheers
