Profile and notifications missing

Hi

I've noticed today that my profile picture, unread posts and notifications has disappeared from the top of my screen when signed in to the forum. As far as I am aware I haven't changed any settings. This has happened since last night.

Edit it would seem there is a not very obvious dropdown arrow at the top right of the page. Clicking this has restored my missing information. It might be better if this was not white on a light grey background.

Ive touched that arrow  accidently and someone helped me out it is very faint.
Why is it there and cant it just be deleted .

Thats much better white arrow on a red circle but what is the point of it any way?
Why would you want to hide that information ?
