Hi Mark,

What did I like about the books...

1. References and explanation of real railway practice.

2. The characters - they are all very strong in the books, especially Telford.

3. Historical references.

4. References to model railways - the story of the extension is great.

Not sure how well the US references would work today - there is a lof them in the books.
