Oop here in the North West of England we are having wonderful weather with none of the drawbacks such as thunderstorms, flash floods etc.
What beats me is how/why a small animal with a fur coat would love to go out and lie in the sun and bake. Admittedly, Hookey does move into the shade when he starts to get too hot, but I used to have a black cat who would roast himself on a large drain cover in my drive. Anyway, I digress. Back to Hookey. I just glanced out of the french doors and saw him in a 'pose' of sorts so took this pic (if I'd opened the doors he'd have moved instantly so I know it's not the best of pics). At least his bonce is in the shade.
My cat. What a tart ::)

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

Mick, that image took me back to winter 1979 :)

Here's two of my cats - I had four at the time - basking in similar repose, not in the sun but right in front of a very hot wood burning stove. I think they do it cos they know we'll immortalise them in photos when they do.

'Killer' was my ginger tom, and 'Squeak' the hair ball next to him.

I have very fond memories of my cats, and a fair few photos from that time, including a series I took when 'Killer' and I went for a walk in the woods together behind the house we used to live in. He was such a poseur and seemed to know what was required as I pointed my camera at him. This is my favourite from that walk in 1979:

The photo always puts me in mind of Arte Johnson in 'Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in' TV show. "Very interesting." :D

Ohhh love a kitty pick

Our pair are great for photo ops, but not so often together. Did catch this attempt at teamwork back in March though...

Nimitz on top, Crumble under....

Well, if we are posting pictures of our cats - this first one I entered in a competition and won! It was only a calendar showing the cat on one of the pages, but I did have a load of calendars to give away!

The second is of two of our cats 'cosying up', (it's a bit dark, but never got round to adjusting it).

David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

It must be nice to have a normal cat...

...we have a Penfold!

Two of his more normal moments.
