Wow, big fella, that's a tough one. We all know and recognise how hard you and your son work to help reduce this type of awful crime, so I can only empathise with how much you must also be hurting.
All power to you for always sticking with it and to keep trying to create some order out of this.
Condolences to all
Best wishes, Bill.

To be honest my fellow club members  and I are struggling  with this if you look up RoyalDocks M.r.c on fb its been  like this for some time we had know good news this week the club has reached  its second  year and locals moan they have nothing to do so many are scared to offer any help in case the get shot or stabbed for trying to improve others lives  The area  is deprived as it is if lose the homework club, reading  club.crafts club.train club, and so many others bits and bobs guest speakers talking about health issues  we are all having a big meeting next week to discuss all of this lot of the volunteers who are young and give up the spare time are so very frighten

Hi Mike, good luck with the meeting next week. It must be a tough time for you all, especially a guy like you who only wants to give the best chance for others. We need a lot more people like you in this world. Best of luck, cheers, Bill.

Hi Bill seems at long last the council might be thinking of metal detectors  in the library  this will safe guard the staff  and volunteers  some what this is only quick fix not a solution to the problem we need sentences  to reflect  the crime now not some time tomorrow

Another Incident in our area this morning, A guy was found beaten, bruised and naked in the lobby of Dunedin House.
The poor guy didnt even remember his name or how he got there, The police and Ambulance were called to the scene by a London Borough of Newham Employee .
There were people walking by, the guy was asking for help and they ignored him, we got some ignorant people living in this area.

Oh Mike, what to say. This is all so sad. Decent people trying to go about their lives, people like you who just want to help and a minority of sub-beings whose sole intent seems to be to destroy. Good luck to you and all around and I just hope that there is a way out of this for you that brings what you seek.
Cheers, Bill.

Just picked up on this post.

You and your team are doing a great job in what must be one of the the most difficult areas.

Can only wish you the best with your endeavours and as said earlier, please keep you and yours safe.

For what its worth for as long as I have known it Custom House has always been a difficult area, even in the early 70's there were parts you did not visit late at night! Alongside with Canning town anyone who lived there had to be "Street wise".

Seems all the modernisation that's going on round there hasn't changed things much, such a pity that area still has that nasty scar!

P.S Still intend to pop round and visit the club Mike

Hi the jury still out at present if the club going to still be viable  and cost worthy  to put metal detectors  in to help prevent the gun and knife culture thats so rife in our area the children are going to lose so much  from the help of volunteers  over 100 hours given by helpers saving untold money i hope we can all get past this but its now becoming common issue and yes we are getting more concerned for our own families  welfares
