Many thanks for these excellent photos., of highly realistic modelling. I particularly like the one of the BR bus in the narrow country lane.

Seconded !

Thanks for the words of encouragement folks! Here are some more up tp date photos.

This is an old Farish 2P. The previous owner had tried to repaint it in LMS livery but I've restored it a bit, relining and adding an early crest and new numbering. I've also added a vacuum pipe made out of an old wound guitar string.

I've added real coal loads to the mineral wagons using the fine stuff at the bottom of the coal bucket. Perfect size for N gauge!

Here's Jubilee Eire waiting to depart with a semi-fast train.

Nice work, and loading some wagons is a job I must do soon. Shame I've got gas central heating !

Just finished the station building for the middle platform, after a few evenings' work.

Hi,

Am new (ish) to this layout. Such as shame about Photobucket.

Anyway, great new pics, lovely stuff, and looking forward to more.

Cheers weave  :beers:

Here's my latest scratchbuild, a cottage based on the crossing keeper's house at Frisby-on-the Wreake in Leicestershire. Just sitting on a card base at the moment which will be glued down on the board.

I've also settled on a name for my layout - Effingby. It has the sound of a small town in the Leicestershire/Rutland area plus, inadvertently, the name has a certain double entendre.

Some progress shots from the level crossing end of the layout.

Although I prefer to scratchbuild the Metcalfe terraced houses are just too good not to use. They may already be on hundreds of layouts but the style of house can be found in hundreds of real towns!

The level crossing was made from scratch, using the ever-useful Evergreen styrene strip and brass wire. I also scratchbuilt the cattle dock, again using styrene strip on top of a platform made from card and Metcalfe brick.

The hedge is actually Spagnum (I think) moss that I found out walking with the dogs one day, sprayed and coated with scatter. I love free modelling materials!
