Derby Lightweight Unit / Park Royal??
« on: September 06, 2011, 10:49:22 am »
Some many moons ago in a moment of utter madness I purchased from Worsley Works the scratchaid kit for the Derby Lightweight Unit.
These are new types of kits for me. I have managed to understand two of the etches. The floor assembly appears quite straight forward with a chosen modification for power. The four sides are obvious, just referring to reference books for the correct matching sides. The other etch is baffling me. I can see the 4 end panels, but the rest of the etches are a total mystery.
Has anyone attempted this kit, and if so what are these bits for please?
Cheers, Bob

In actual fact, although the etch states Derby Lightweight, further picture collection on the web has revealed it is in fact a Park Royal DMU.
How very peculiar.

You might want to check with Allen in that case what you actually have and should have.

I would actually really like one of these Park Royals, as some might remember me mentioning before. I also remember someone saying they're no longer available any more though.
The real way to find out is to email Worsley Works, but they insist on hiding their email address - presumably to prevent spam.
Unfortunately for me, my Yahoo! account won't work with the MS email app on my PC that the Worsley contact page works through. Can someone please inbox me with their email address?
How ironic that I choose N gauge after I start using reading glasses.

The address is already all over the internet, however, I have edited the above address as it has now been seen and used by person asking for it.

The full address is still in the quote, however.
Not sure I see what the issue is with posting a business e mail address that's on their website. It's not as if it's a personal mail address.

I just clicked on the link here in Oz, and it seems like a business reply email to me, but perhaps Allen can confirm?

Hi

See the above about the message being hidden on the Worsley Works website. Its hidden for a reason hence why it shouldn't be in plain text here.

Dont forget if anyone wants a Derby Lightweight single unit Only Me of this Parish does a very nice 3D printed body which if your brave enough is designed to fit on a Dapol Bubble car chassis ,mine is running on a Japaneese chassis at the moment untill I can find something a bit longer ,Im not capable of useing the Dapol one even if I could afford it.
