I see, so which sort of 'strange' I wonder :hmmm:

synonyms:   unusual, odd, curious, peculiar, funny, bizarre, weird, uncanny, queer, unexpected, unfamiliar, abnormal, atypical, anomalous, untypical, different, out of the ordinary, out of the way, extraordinary, remarkable, puzzling, mystifying, mysterious, perplexing, baffling, unaccountable, inexplicable, incongruous, uncommon, irregular, singular, deviant, aberrant, freak, freakish, surreal.............

I'm hoping for 'remarkable'. :D

Only joking. Had a colonoscopy many years back so I have fond memories  of such strangeness.

Glad to hear you are well David (Dannyboy) i am planning to go to TINGS this year with Anne, we are planning to go for the weekend starting on Friday and going home Monday, planning it like that so we can just take our time over the weekend. Might get to meet at last.

dannyboy

I plan on getting the ferry from Dublin on Saturday morning, driving to where I am going to staying overnight, (already booked ) and going to the show on the Sunday and then driving up to Yorkshire. It will be nice to have a 'meet up', but a new thread had better be started!
@Steamie+  Thanks for your opening comments.   :beers:
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

Young Bulla

Despite the exceptional weather I have the fire blazing away nicely to heat the water for a good long soak.
Got to look my best tomorrow, start a new job after almost a year of redundancy 'holiday'

dannyboy

12 months is a long time without a job! Good luck for tomorrow.

You'll probably read this post when you get home so I hope all went well on your first day, Stan

Young Bulla

Certainly am doing and things are looking good!- Mrs Bulla has just been received an email from the same company offering her an interview on Thursday, so she will be flying home tomorrow! Not seen her in nearly a month so better get cracking on tidying the house tonight!
All the best

As some of you are aware, I have been having tests/investigations for over three years after it was found that I had an abnormally high PSA count. After three different biopsies, an MRI scan and a few 'examinations', I was told last December by the specialist that it probably was not cancer, although they could not say exactly what the problem was. He decided that he would change my tablets and see me again in May, after I had had a blood test. The very first PSA count showed 12.5, (should be about 4.5 for a man of my age ). Various blood tests since then have shown the PSA count between 12 and 25. I called in at the Doctors today to get the result of the last PSA count. It showed  (drum roll) ............ 4.7:smiley-laughing:. Ask me if I am looking forward to my hospital appointment in three weeks. . I have decided, by way of celebration, that I will go to TINGS this year!! If I could, I would buy you regulars on this 'ere forum a drink - but if I did that, I would have no money left for TINGS, so, whilst having a wee dram shortly, I will think about you all.  :beers:

UPDATE -

Well I made my 200 mile return journey to Hospital today. I came away not knowing whether to laugh or cry ........... they don't want to see me again!  ;D. Apparently, they were expecting the latest blood test result to be about half of the one taken 6 months ago - that was just over 20, so they were expecting a reading of about 10, not 4.7! As the man said, that is excellent so, a) after all the tests, gallons of fuel used and time etc., there is nothing more to be done, as it is pretty certain that the 'problem', (what problem?), is not cancer and b) they will just let my GP monitor the situation now, by taking 6 monthly blood tests.  I have to take my daily tablet 'ad infinitum', (at €45 a month, about £35), but what the heck, ask me if I care  So don't forget, all you more 'mature' gents - get your PSA checked. Initial bad news need not be fatal, but not getting the test could be  :o

I also found out last week that I am entitled to an Irish pension as well as my UK one. I am not sure if the UK pension is just topped up to the level of the Irish one or as well as, but, what the heck, who cares?  So it is another wee dram tonight and roll on TINGS!  :beers:.

A lot of faffing, David, but the end result is great news!
Dunno what things are like in the Republic but up until I was 60 I got prescriptions on a pre-payment basis as it saved so much money. When I hit 60 prescriptions in the UK are free* which is just as well with the amount I take each day ::) Talk about shake, rattle and roll ;D

David, I can't believe it could be possible for anybody who has been dealing with poor health to receive more wondeful news than that you have been given today. Your sense of relief must be almost overwhelming. Congratulations.

And with the pension solution it's most definitely now time to buy more trains!

Why wait for TINGS! :D. (Other more sensible options are available.)

There are a couple of schemes in Ireland, but I do not qualify - probably too much pension(s) coming in!  :smiley-laughing:

Thank you both  :beers:
David.
