Both those bridges look fantastic. I love the one you have made up.  Thanks for the pics.

The small bridge for baseboard 2 has now been painted, weathered & detailed...

That sure is a mighty fine looking bridge. I have to be honest and say I am a bit baffled by the middle section of framing which cuts across your dropped section. The foam risers on the right-hand board suggest an embankment may feature there so I am intrigued as to how the wooden battens will fit scenically. However, I will shut up and let you get on with it.

A South Wales BR Blue era layout will get my attention to be sure! I am still trying to plan my (possible) layout and keep going back to the drawing board. Oh well............... :'(

Hi all, I've managed to make some more progress on the layout over the last couple of days. On baseboard 1 the area behind where the viaduct will go has now been closed off with some plywood..

Yesterday and today has been mostly taken up by track laying in the fiddle yard area until running out of track joiners put a halt to things  :(

That's all for now,

cheers, Stu

Some more jobs done on the new layout. Track work in the fiddle yard has now all been laid, dropper wires soldered to the tracks & linked up between the baseboards & working. Many thanks to @newportnobby  for his help & advice on electrofrog points. Had the class 37 running on the fiddle yard today  :D

Next job is all the track work & bridges on the front of the layout...

Cheers, Stu

I'm not amazed it worked, Stu, but you took a big risk there, my friend ;D

A bit more done on the layout today, the small bridge on baseboard 2 glued in place, cork underlay stuck down..

I then started to lay some track on the bridge. One small disaster, I somehow managed to drop one of the weights I use to weigh the track down while the glue dries onto the bridge & broke one of the handrails & one of the abutment walls came off as well  :'(

I think I'll hold off repairing it for now until I've done most of the major construction work.

That's it for now,

Cheers, Stu

Just picked up on this thread.

Really nice work from Stu- no real surprise there - I'm looking forward to seeing the viaduct installed and the start on the scenics.

Great stuff!

Make sure the handrail goes back on kinked, make it more like the real thing!
