Wifes android tablet
« on: January 18, 2018, 12:08:52 pm »
My wife has an android tablet and has managed to destroy the micro usb connector. Is it worth looking for someone to try and fix it?

Times are tough at the moment, so we cannot afford any drastic expense.

To fix that you would be looking at around 70-90, it requires specialist soldering equipment as the connections are PCB micro soldered using a precision jig otherwise you would just have solder blob where the seven-nine pin connector is..

That depends entirely on the actual tablet - on many (Samsung spring to mind) there's no soldering required and it's an easy enough fix. Google the specific model for guides.

it depends on the tablet, The Tesco Hudl you just undo the case, undo two screws holding the USB in place, pull the flat cable out of a socket.
do the reverse to replace new USB.

and in the Hudl the USB board costs just under 15 deliverd.
