A cause for celebration!
« on: November 17, 2017, 03:42:17 pm »
Today, at 3.25pm, the twentieth and final Norfolk Southern Heritage unit came out of the tunnel at South Pine onto the layout, and was met by a barrage of flashes from the photographers at the "All Aboard" Railfan diner.

I won my last Norfolk Southern unit, a red Norfolk Southern GEVO #8114 on ebay, and it arrived in the post today.  The seller gave the caveat that "it was running a bit slow", but when I put it on the test track, I was overjoyed to find nothing wrong with it at all!

I have purchased eight NS Heritage units, a WSOP SD40-2 and a CSX GEVO since May.  The coffers are now well and truely exhausted!  Time to ease off and enjoy my new locos! Sorry about the photo being 90 degrees off!

Hi Andy, Very Nice   That was the Original Norfolk Southern Railway that existed in the Norfolk VA area and was purchased by the Southern Railway. Now all you need is a roundhouse and you could pose a scene like that did at the roundhouse in Spencer NC.  :)

Cheers,
Rich S.

That sounds like quite a collection!
I think you certainly owe yourself some running time to thoroughly enjoy them.

I took time out from classifying my screws, d/l the picture, rotated it, and reinserted it into the original post. the online edit was unable to rotate it.

There is always a way!

Hi and Congratulations.

I don't do American but occasionally dip in and out of your layouts. Very nice. Often have to Google things to know where and what you are talking about.

Came across this (you've probably all seen it and maybe that's what you are/were trying to achieve but very impressive anyway).....

http://www.nscorp.com/content/nscorp/en/the-norfolk-southern-story/heritage-locomotives/_jcr_content/mainpar/image.img.jpg/1377801553600.jpg.

Will have to dabble more on the American N thread.

Cheers weave  :beers:
