Many of them, including the one I linked, have "pinhole" in the description so perhaps no lens at all ? Wouldnt have thought that would give much light though ?!

If they list what the minimum Lux is, that will give you an idea of what light is required. The smaller the Lux number the better e.g. 0.1 would be excellent, 3 would not be very good.

Cheers John.

Thanks John, that is interesting info. I shall keep it in memory for when I see one with a spec. No, nothing mentioned in the one I linked
"MW06 is magic and powerful that is quite beyond your imagination!"
heheee ! Thinks = wouldnt be much of a spy cam if we needed to put up studio lighting :) !

No worries, it was just an afterthought, main reason for post was to follow up on @newportnobby   's lens focus question.
The light level is good enough for @cjdodd so that is good enough for me :)

So......I now have the camera.
It's taken an hour but finally got it working -I think.  The instructions are next to useless  but I believe that I've worked it out
Now i need to attach it to a wagon and see what happens.
Will try it either later or tomorrow. No doubt my forst effort will result in a major derailment!
It's you railway so build it as you want and run whatever you like. The only rule is - ENJOY :

So here is attempt one. All lot is in my off scene area plus a section through the fiddle yard. It certainly shows up imperfections! One or two signals are new  and only placed rather than fixed hence the strange angles:

I see you have the same problem I did. The frame rate is too fast and it plays too quick. You can slow it down in the YouTube video editor

Yes , the train was going super slow but the video is fast. i'll have a play with the you tube ecitor later. Plus....I can't get the sound working yet.
I also think that setting the camera at a very slight angle rather than straight ahead will give a more interesting view.
For a cheapi camera it's ok though.
