Picked up my pad this morning logged on as usual but after about 3 minutes the screen went blank and the little spinning wheel appeared. After about 10 seconds a faint ting was heard and after further 10 or so seconds the keypad screen appeared.
Great, keyed my pass code in and hey presto we are back to the first screen of icons & we are off and running.
Not so great, after 2/ 3 minutes the screen goes blank again and the process is repeated.
I've repeated this a number of times and it doesn't matter what I try to do or if I'm on line or not the same problem arises.
I've tried powering the pad of for half an hour or so before trying again but no improvement.
The pad has seemed more sensitive to touch since recent updates, have I inadvertently changed a setting somewhere?
Maybe I've picked up a virus or could it simply be broken?
Anyone got any idea what is wrong and how I might fix it?
Thanks in anticipation
Ray
Hmm, I wonder if you're getting this one?

You mention powering off, but have you tried a full hard reboot, holding down the home and on/off button at the same time for ten seconds or so?
Yes, I'd do the iOS 11.2 upgrade - they rushed it out this morning.
Thanks Guys
@daffy (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=5634) I'm afraid the hard reboot didnt make any difference.
@Zwilnik (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=8) your link to runing the update with notifications turn off seems to have done the trick, been up and ruuning now for a bit over 30 minutes without interuption. :claphappy:
